Dr. Taufique Joarder is a distinguished public health expert with sixteen years of national and international experience, holding a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) from Johns Hopkins University. His expertise lies in health policy and systems research, notably in policy analysis, program evaluation, implementation research, and human resources for health.

Dr. Joarder is also a skilled educator and trainer, specializing in global health, mixed-methods research, qualitative research methods, health communication, infectious disease epidemiology, and health equity. His scholarly accomplishments include 39 international peer-reviewed journal articles, ten books or book chapters, 35 op-eds and editorials, and 15 comprehensive reports, manuals, or guidelines. He is also a board member of the Switzerland-based professional body of the health policy and systems researchers, the Health Systems Global, and an editor of the acclaimed journal, BMC Globalization and Health. He was the Executive Director of the Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh during the crucial period of the COVID-19 pandemic, which organization he now serves as a Vice-Chair of.

A seasoned presenter, Dr. Joarder actively participates in national and international conferences, invited seminars, policy advocacy initiatives, and consultative meetings and workshops. His career features high-level leadership roles in NGOs, UN organization, and civil society organizations, faculty positions, and significant policy engagements both in Bangladesh and abroad. He frequently engages with the media as an expert, guest discussant, moderator, and TV anchor.

Dr. Joarder’s skills include strong qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, effective knowledge translation at the policy level, critical thinking, exceptional communication, and diplomatic skills, especially in conflict resolution. He is fluent in Bengali, English, and Persian, with professional experiences across Bangladesh, Singapore, the USA, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

Currently, Dr. Joarder serves as an Associate Professor and the Lead of the Programme Evaluation Unit at a leading university.
