Economist Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya has been appointed as the head of a 12-member committee which has been given responsibility to publish a white paper on the state of economy.
The office of chief adviser issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.
The committee would publish a white paper on issues including: the current situation of the national economy in the backdrop of years of volatility, the strategic steps the interim government could take with regards to the economy, and lastly, the measures to take for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) and addressing the challenges Bangladesh would face in the near-future as it transitions from the least developed country (LDC) status.
It is worth noting that Dr Debapriya is a distinguished fellow at Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and the convenor of the Citizen's Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh.
